Missing Dad.

Last weekend I was busy at the Southeast Women's Herbal Conference, staying at the camp Wednesday through Sunday. We had a few "normal" days in the begining of the week, the David said goodbye to us Thursday night, leaving before daylight Friday morning for Chicago. We planned easy diners, lots of movies, and some time "off" from the kids while they played with neighbors so I could try to catch up on some of the sleep I lost during the conference. We have missed our daddy so very much...and I am seriously missing our camara (!) which David took with him to capture his trip....leaving me with limited blogging possiblities! So today I borrowed Kelcey and Alex's camara for a few minutes to capture some of the "keep our minds off missing daddy" events....

First, getting Gita excited for her 4th birthday next week! I had done some gift shopping already and decided to seize one of her quietly watching video moments to wrap the presents. I did not know at the time but the wrapped presents would become a serious distraction later in the day. Gita saw them all stacked up and fell into a fit of glee and joy! But she quickly came to the conclusion that my wrapping was not meeting her expectations. So she determined what each one needed, "this one really needs a blue bow," "this one needs a happy birthday card," and set out to fill in the gaps. I will say, they look much more exciting now! And this kept her busy for at least 35 minutes while I cleaned out the fridge!

Next on the list of distracting activites, Gita and Nimuae decided to put their feelings on paper. Gita dictated this letter to Nimuae who used her incredible writing skills and a blue highlighter to get it all down. They wanted to mail it....hence the envelope addressed below. But I just did not think that the postal carrier would find David in Chicao, so we decided to photograph it and sent it to him via email.
And what coud be better at keeping our minds off daddy then a pancake birthday brunch for Lilikoi? Perfect timing! Here is Lili getting some serious love from the "auntie couch".....Auntie Becca (Kelcey's sister) and Auntie Em (yours truley) were thrilled to celebrate our favorite niece's first birthday! We were both honored to witness Lili's birth....and to be witness to the Loomer family and hearts growing bigger and bigger with this giggling bundle of love!

My distracting job is almost over. We head to Asheville in the morning to get Noah to his form drawing/fine woodworking class (he is almost finished carving an egg out of wood!) and then we pick up David at the airport! And the five carmonas are no longer the five carmonas minus one....phew!
